Ladurée Makeup Line

Holy macaron!~Ladurée just recently launched a makeup line. And guess what? The color palette  is inspired by the colors of their macaroons! Their new collection was released in Japan and Europe this November.

Audrey Hepburn Uniqlo Coat

This wool coat by Uniqlo seems to be a attribute to the Audrey of the early 60s. The coat's silhouette is reminiscent of the coats Audrey donned in Breakfast at Tiffany's and Charade.

Backyard Camping

The Honey Trees have inspired me. Once the weather gets nicer it would be so nice to camp out in the backyard with friends. Cath Kidston's tents with their retro-inspired patterns are perfect for the occasion. The teepee-style tent would also function well as a little reading haven in the corner of your bedroom.

Jelly Shoes are Back!

Reminds me of when I was a kid and my mom bought me my first pair of sparkly jelly shoes. Ahh the 90s. Jelly shoes aren't retro anymore. They're making a come back. Example: these classic glitter Jelly sandals at Topshop with a chunky heel for added oomph.

Q-Pot Chocolate Smart Phone

Who comes up with this stuff? Apparently Q-Pot. Why does one's smart phone have to look like a bar of chocolate? It's definitely frivolous, and I wonder if its decadent chocolatey exterior belies a shoddy and inefficient cellular technology--but who knows, it might just be the perfect phone. Anyways, do I want one? Yes! Check out Q-Pot's website for yourself: Q-Pot

Romeo and Juliet Goofing Around

Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey making a mustache from Hussey's locks

In preparation for Valentine's Day, I decided to indulge my acute nostalgia for Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet (1968)--the last time I saw this film was in 8th grade! Let me just confess, I've been completely obsessed with this film for the past week, scouring the web for interviews and photographs of Whiting and Hussey. Not to mention my rediscovery of "What is a Youth?"!

French Pop

Over the winter break, I did a crash course in sixties French pop--I can't believe it took me this long to discover the music of Francoise Hardy, Brigitte Bardot, and France Gall! Also am loving 80s singer Etienne Daho.
Francoise Hardy

My Favs:
Francoise Hardy - Comment te dire adieu, Mon amie la rose
Marianne Faithfull - Hier ou demain
France Gall - Les sucettes, Laisse tomber les filles
Brigitte Bardot- Moi je joue
Etienne Daho - Le grand sommeil, Paris le Flore
Jacqueline Taieb - Le printemps à Paris
Sylvie Vartan - Cette lettre là
