Red Valentino Fall/Winter 2013

Red Valentino's newest collection is an ode to Grimm's fairytales and Christmas confections. This season's patterns, textures, and color palette are the stuff of gingerbread houses frosted with peppermint candies, sugared flowers, matroskas, and even the big bad wolf himself. My favorite feature of Valentino's sister line's newest look book is its playfulaccessories.  Candy-striped heels and velveteen pumps trimmed with fabric rosebuds and accordion-style frills add the perfect Romantic touch to the knitted frocks.

Red Valentino opened a boutique in San Francisco about a year ago but yesterday I decided to visit the store for the first time. There is currently a sale on all Spring/Summer 2013 items and the markdown is significant--60% off the retail price. I was lucky to find an adorable garden clutch and a pair of daisy pumps made from natural straw. The garden clutch is limited edition and was sold exclusively at the San Francisco location. I also found a Philosophy di A. F. top for $40 at Loehmann's to complete my garden-themed shopping purchases.
